Consultation and Communication
Hevilifts maintains that communication and consultation with its employees is the keystone to a safe environment. In order to achieve this, Hevilifts has monthly Health and Safety Committee Meetings attended by representatives from all areas of the business.

As a business, Hevilifts is committed to the principles of an I.I.F. (Incident and Injury Free) culture. All Staff and Operatives have attended a 4 hour incident and injury free orientation training session. This has been maintained throughout the business via the work of the Safety Committee and the adoption of the following principles:

Professional Memberships
Hevilifts are members of the British Safety Council. This means that our Health and Safety Policy is audited by them on a annual basis. Hevilifts has consistently achieved the British Safety Council 5 Star Award and has received the Sword of Honour twice as well as being OHSAS 18001 accredited.

The Sword of Honour is widely recognised as the pinnacle of International Health and Safety Awards and is presented to organisations who have demonstrated to an external independent adjudication panel, a culture of best practice for Health and Safety throughout their business, from boardroom to shop floor.

In order to compete for the BSC Sword of Honour, organisations must be able to demonstrate that their specific site has achieved the maximum rating in the BSC's Five Star Health and Safety Management System. Inaugurated in 1979, only 40 swords are awarded world-wide.

All operatives and supervisors are CSCS trained and carry CARES training certificates. In addition, managers and supervisors are required to undertake SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme), SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) and NVQ Level 3 & 4 training.

Hevilifts is a BS ISO 9001 registered company and maintain registration annually via an external accredited auditing body (CARES). Internal auditing is carried out by Hevilifts to maintain the highest standards of quality in between external audits.

Hevilifts are members of the Post Tensioning Association.

Hevilifts aim to actively reduce our impact on the Environment and this is achieved by maintaining a stringent Environmental policy. Control of waste sent to landfill is controlled by utilizing segregation of all materials and use of a dedicated licensed waste management company.
